Haven’t posted on the Russian roulette wheel that is Chicagoland craigslist in a while. I’m curious what type of person I’ll meet selling this thing. Usually I have good CL experiences here, but have a few sketchy ones as well. Wish me luck, hopefully I come out of this with both kidneys.

I’d be inclined to say that the Land Rover crowd would be mostly less sketchy, but then I think of all the people you'll likely get asking if it will fit their 1993 F150 etc

I’m in the western suburbs, and about a week and a half ago I had someone drive all the way from SW Michigan at 10:30 at night to buy a scooter from me. While he was loading up, he mentioned that we needed to get those special microphones around here that the Gary police have to listen for gunshots.
I had to explain to him that we were nowhere near those areas. It occurred to me later that this dude showed up late at night to some random dude's house, with a pocket full of cash, and he genuinely thought that he was in an area where he might get shot.

Yeah, anytime I talk to someone outside Chicago, they are legitimately impressed that I live here. Like I’m a war refugee or something. The national news does not paint a pretty picture of what is actually a very nice place to live.

The local news isn't much better. But yeah, most of Chicago is great.
